Rule 66D
Export or import signal number to be renewed:

(1) The exporter or importer shall comply with section 89 b of the Act. For each financial year, the export or import signal number taken in accordance with the above shall be renewed by submitting an application to the department or the customs office designated by the department before the beginning of that financial year. But if an industry wants to renew the export or import signal number for five financial years, it can renew the fee by paying a lump sum.
(2) When making an application according to sub-rule (1), a fee of one thousand rupees and the following documents must be submitted along with the application:-
(a) Certificate of Tax Payment
(b) A bank guarantee of three lakh rupees, which has expired for the period for which renewal is desired.
(3) If the renewal cannot be done before the beginning of the financial year according to sub-rule (1), the renewal can be done within the same financial year by paying the additional fee as per sub-rule (2) within the following period:-
(a) Fifty percent if done before the end of October (b) 100% by the end of June (4) In case of non-renewal as per sub-rule (3), it can be renewed for five years by paying an additional fee of ten thousand rupees to the fee as per sub-rule (1) for each financial year. The signal number which is not renewed even within that period will automatically be cancelled.
